iPhone 3Gs… home at last

So yesterday I picked up my new iPhone 3Gs. Vodafone have now finally released the iPhone and beaten the monopoly of O2. having been with Vodafone for years I was forced on to O2 18 months ago and I did not enjoy the experience. There’s no point on going into the details but I will say that the service from Vodafone over the past week has been amazing and flawless. Thank you Alex.

I realise now how much I missed the earlier one I had, that I stupidly lost! It is not just a phone, it is not even a phone really. It does so much for my organisation and efficiency, it is no less than staggering. Just in a few hours playing I have set up the following:

  • Trip software that will sort out all my flights, keep a record of them and keep me updated on their progress.
  • Time recording software enabling me to keep an accurate record of the work I do so I can bill my clients.
  • Map software combined with GPS gets me around… the world!
  • Scanning software that allows me to scan documents with my phone and email them off to people.
  • Business Card Reader… at no extra cost.
  • A compass will full degree readings.
  • A Facebook client, Skype client, Twitter client, WordPress client, Evernote client, Toodledo client.
  • A Kayak client for booking my flights.
  • Synchronising with all the emails, calendar and contact items on my MacBook.

Oh and a phone, although that is still waiting for O2 to hand over the number in this age of electronic immediacy!!!
